I spent some time today cleaning out the inbox for the “viral contender” website. I’ve said it again and again and again: if I don’t clear out the emails a couple times a day, it gets overwhelming FAST. The emails are just keyword alerts for articles I may want to comment on or share – to get the website’s name out there. A couple weeks ago I set up a Pinterest page for the site and shared all the content there. Today I added an entry to the site and shared it to Pinterest. I also tweeted out comments to several articles. I seem to be getting more interaction via Twitter vs. everything else. The site actually had a large spike in traffic a few days ago and I can’t figure out from where/how or if it was even real traffic. I *think* I weeded out all the fake site crawler bots, but you never know.
I had a very rough couple of weeks and that’s why I didn’t post on Monday like I planned to. Still can’t really talk about it. I’m just in denial over everything. Numb. I know it’s healthier for me to talk about it, but I just can’t. I can’t even explain why.
Rather than talk about what’s on my mind, I’ve just been happily distracting myself with all sorts of things:
- I found a stag beetle and put her in my terrarium. She promptly buried herself in the soil and hasn’t been seen since. 🙁
- A coworker gave me 33 juvenile swordtails that she didn’t want. My 35 gallon hex tank is now a FLURRY of activity!! I hope they get some color. They are rather dull looking right now.
- Hubby and I drove to Newport, RI and took HUNDREDS of seagull pictures. Certainly an entertaining way to spend a few hours in the fresh air.
- I happily sat here yesterday and added all my Perk/Swagbucks phones to Ringplus’ free calling plan. Got 7 of them activated before I half-bricked the 8th phone and gave up. I may attempt a repair on the phone – or I may just send it off to recycling. Not really worth my time when replacement phones can be picked up cheaply. The reason I set them up on Ringplus was simply because I could.
- I started the transfer process to move one of my domains from one registrar to another. Yet another project domain I’ve done nothing with, but I swear I will some day…
- I bought WAY too much paper!! 5 cases and 4 reams just today – 2 more cases earlier in the week. All free after rebates/rewards/cash back and all get immediately picked up by someone who donates them to the local schools. Win-win all around!
I still have several more things on my list to distract myself with. I sure won’t be able to get through all of them and that’s ok!! Nice distractions.
I’m taking a few days off this week, so I will need to come up with some free/low cost ways to entertain ourselves for those days. I’m sure we can come up with something.
I guess I should get back to my to-do list now. Running out of evening quickly…
