Have I had a crazy few days here or what?! I was leaving for work this morning and what do I see on the walkway? A cicada, mid-molt! At first I thought it was dead – so I carried it off to my car. As I was getting my bug container ready – the cicada moved. I watched it for a few minutes and it didn’t do much. I figured I’d watch the rest when I got to work. Nope! That little bugger was out of the exoskeleton with wings spread in less than half an hour! Bummer. Still was one of the neatest things I’ve ever seen. I’m stuck with cell phone pics, but they really aren’t too bad. First time in my life I’ve ever found a live cicada – and I find one mid-molt? Crazy!!
