ME Version 2.0 – Defining Who I Am

In my last blog post (TWO MONTHS AGO? 🙁 ) I mentioned that I was studying Bob Proctor’s You Were Born Rich. I am actually in round two of my mastermind group, and I’m enjoying this material more now than I did two months ago!

One of the main ideas in this book is building an image of WHO you want to be and the life you want to have. I am slowly piecing this all together, starting with building the image of who I am – and making sure I AM that person. Yes, these days there is only one person who gets to define the person I am – ME! I spent far too many years being the person that other people told me I was. The problem is: I’m not that person at all! I never have been, so I’m not sure where the false image they had of me came from. I’m also not sure why I let these external sources define who I am. No wonder I was so miserable all the time. NO MORE! I’m in control of my life now, and I’m the only one who gets to influence the person I am. Seems simple, doesn’t it? I didn’t understand that for so long, but now I do. 🙂

So what kind of person have I decided to be? Well, I’m certainly a work in progress. That’s ok – I’m heading in a positive direction! I hike, I bike, I’m social! I don’t sit on my butt in the house anymore. I get out and ENJOY life now!

I decided I wanted to ride my bike regularly, so I got a hitch installed on my car, added a hitch mount bike rack, and off I went!

I decided to go hike mountains, so I found a group that does that regularly, and… off I went! It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL at the top of those mountains! 🙂

Ah, but the social part. That has been the biggest challenge for me so far. I feel much more comfortable on my bike or hiking a mountain. A strictly social event? Well, I’m getting there. Thankfully I have found a fun group of people that are very easy to talk to and do things with. 80s party anyone??
