I’ve been experiencing an unusually “high” amount of traffic on several websites, even sites with no content on them. What’s especially odd about this traffic is that it all comes from Russia. That might make sense with the content on one site, but THIS site? No…
When I dig deeper, this is what I find:
All those referrals topping the list? They aren’t real!! They are just spam trying to get me to click through and buy some lame product. Spam… and they are seriously throwing my numbers OFF. Not happy about that.
Thankfully there is an easy way to get rid of this CRAP. I found this article that nicely explains how to remove the fake referrals from Google Analytics.
Now I’m off to kick this crap to the curb!
